AUTUMN HUNTER TRIAL – Saturday, 23rd October

Well done to everyone who took part in our Autumn Hunter Trial. We were lucky with the weather, ground conditions were good and it was lovely to see so many of you out enjoying the course. As usual, huge thanks go to all our lovely volunteers who made sure everything ran smoothly. Their help is much appreciated! Results are below.

Grateful thanks to TAG Equestrian (Toni Graham) for sponsoring the rosettes and prizes for the pairs class which was very popular. They were warmly received by the winners. Thanks also to Crop Services, Pitscottie for providing additional prizes for other classes.

The Hunter Trial schedule, entry form and Covid protocols are available below. Please read them all carefully. Online entries can be made via www.equoevents.com or you can enter by post.

Remember to print out three copies of your number, and bring your number bib with you. (Numbers should be clear and easy to read – one front and back for your bib, and one to display in your vehicle windscreen)

Our hunter trial will run over an extended course, rather than the usual training course, and there will be classes at three different heights. There will also be easier ‘L’ options at some of the fences at all heights.

There will a pairs class, which is usually popular, and to make it do-able for more people, this time it will be scored over the 2′ / 60cm height. You can jump higher if you want but will not get any bonus points.

There will also be a class over a shorter, flatter course with fewer jumps for those who are just starting out or who want an easier day. Outside assistance will be allowed for this class and it will include 8 – 10 obstacles which will be a mix of cross country fences and some show jumps.

We are moving some of the fences around a bit and the course will follow a different route from our last event, but should still be nice and inviting and an ideal end to the season. You will still have to pay attention though!!

Look forward to seeing you all on 23rd October!

CROSS COUNTRY INSTRUCTION

We have already had a couple of clinics and are pleased to have both Julie Speirs and Toni Graham coming to instruct at Kinnaird. Both are very popular instructors and should be contacted direct to book a space – both have limited places left so if you would like to join in, you need to be quick! We are hoping to add additional dates though.

Thursday, 5th August – Julie Speirs (contact through facebook – JS Horse & Rider Training)

Saturday, 7th August – Toni Graham (contact through facebook)
