2015 Season

A huge thank you to everyone who helped in any way with our hunter trial. It was much appreciated. Full results are below. We had a good entry across the classes and it was lovely to see old friends who had travelled a distance as well as local competitors and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. Photographer for the day was Jim Crichton so check out his website at www.jimcrichton.com for some lovely pictures of the action. Weather permitting, the course will remain open for a little longer so if you missed the competition or would like to iron out any problems before the winter then give us a ring on 07821 495865.

If you are looking for a lovely new 14.2hh pony, scroll down for details of our much loved Mark who is sadly for sale. He and Jacqueline were part of the NEFRC 80cm Horse Trials team who were placed 2nd in the Riding Club Championships at Auchlishie recently. They also picked up an individual rosette in their arena – pretty good for their first competition together! (He is usually ridden by younger sisters) Mark has now been sold and is off to have lots of fun in his lovely new home.

Saturday, 24th OCTOBER See below for results and lost property

Our annual end of season hunter trial was a great success with good entries across all the classes. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and the weather held up well despite the forecast. Well done to everyone who took part. There were some lovely clear rounds close to the optimum times and it was also nice to see some less expert combinations enjoying the experience.

As always, a huge thank you goes to all our many helpers. We couldn’t do it without them and their help is very much appreciated. Weather permitting, the course will be open for a little longer so if you were unable to come to the competition or if you had a difficulty that you want to resolve before the winter, then come along for a final run of the season. Lost Property A couple of items were found after the hunter trial:- 1. container key on purple tag 2. pair of glasses with half rims (unfortunately frame is broken but lenses are intact)

Please get in touch if these items belong to you. HUNTER TRIAL RESULTS Hunter Trial Start Times Entry Form Click here Schedule & Rules Click here

Thursday, 24th September We had a lovely day for the Dairsie Dash. It was great to see well over 100 children from the Bell Baxter and Madras feeder primary schools enjoying their run round the course, with younger pupils taking part in a shorter fun run. Everyone was very enthusiastic and there were some fantastic results over the hilly course from competitive runners, with others just taking advantage of the chance to take part. The Active Schools Co-ordinators did a great job of organising everything, and the Active Schools Ambassadors (all senior pupils at Bell Baxter) were a fantastic help, marking out the course, scoring, stewarding and tidying up. Many thanks to all the parent and staff helpers too. Full results should be available from your Co-ordinator soon. Active Schools Ambassadors from Bell baxter HS

Mark has now been sold Sadly, our lovely 14.2hh gelding, Mark, is now hopelessly outgrown and is for sale so that someone else can enjoy pony club, tetrathlon, cross country, show jumping and fun hacks with him. Mark was part of the NEFRC 80cm horse trial team which was placed 2nd at the recent Riding Club championships at Auchlishie. Please get in touch for more information, until we can work out how to add it here!!

North East Fife Riding Club One Day Event

The One Day Event held on Sunday, 12th July was a great success again, with some good results in all classes and there was a nice mixture of competitors who were there for experience, and the more practiced combinations. We hope everyone enjoyed their day and congratulations go to the prize winners, and also to those who may have missed the prize lists but were pleased with their performances. This year again, one of the trophy winners had taken the chance of staying over the night before and this obviously paid off!

Full results can be found on the Riding Club website at www.nefrc.org.uk or by clicking on the following link:- http://nefrc.org.uk/Downloads/ODE_2015_Results.pdf Photographers for the day were Sinclair Photography who took some lovely pictures of all three disciplines. Check out their website at www.sinclairphotography.co.uk to view their photos and place an order.

Kinnaird Cross Country 2014

We had a busy summer here at Kinnaird Cross Country with many people using the course to advance their skills and experience. Ground conditions were pretty good all season and stayed that way for both our Pick- a- Fence and our end-of-season Hunter Trial. Don’t forget to get in touch with your club or group if you’d like to hold a competition of your own here at some time in the future. We also run our popular Gift Voucher Scheme for those who may be looking for a special present that’s just a little bit different!

We’ve facilities for overnight stays for your horse if you’re considering a short break with your friends AND your horses and there’s also plenty of local accommodation to choose from if a tent or horse lorry seems a bit basic. Non horsey friends and family can come along too and while you ride, they’ll find lots to do in the area. Hunter Trial Saturday 25th October 2014 Well done to everyone who took part in our end of season hunter trial. A huge thank you goes to all the many volunteers who helped to make the day run smoothly. The competition could not take place without them and their help is very much appreciated. However, sincere apologies to all for the frustration caused when the start times were unavailable on the website. We know how important it is to have them promptly and easily accessible, but there was an unexpected technical hitch. That aside, the whole event was very successful and although a bit blustery, the weather was fine and the ground held up well. Congratulations to the prizewinners – there were some lovely clear rounds very close to the optimum times. Classes 1- 4 were qualifiers for the 2015 Knockhill Cross Country Championships so good luck to those of you competing at that next year. Several people took the chance to bring out new or young horses and there were also some riders doing their first cross country competition, so even if they didn’t feature in the prize list, there were lots of personal successes. If you had to leave before collecting your rosette, please get in touch so that we can send it out to you. Photographer for the day was Jim Crichton and you can find his photos at www.jimcrichton.com We hope you all enjoyed the day and look forward to seeing lots of you back at Kinnaird again next season.

Dairsie Dash The annual Dairsie Dash running competition took place recently here at Kinnaird and was enjoyed by all. It has become a popular event for pupils from primary schools in the Cupar and St. Andrews area and was organised by the local Active Schools Co- ordinators, with help from some S5 girls from Bell Baxter HS. There were some great runs with the older pupils completing a fairly tough, hilly run round the course, while the younger children took part in a shorter fun run. Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to the medal and trophy winners. It was lovely to see you all enjoying the event and results will be available from your Co- ordinator soon . Pick- a- Fence July 2014

There were lots of happy faces at the recent fun pick- a- fence. The weather was wonderful and the medics had nothing to do, which is how we like it! In the relaxed atmosphere of a non- competitive event, riders chose which fences they wanted to jump and several went round again to iron out any problems or to try some bigger options. We hope everyone enjoyed the day and found it useful as well as fun. Many thanks to all for coming and also for some of the lovely feedback we received, such as “Thanks to the whole family for today.” and “What a great event and everyone seemed to be having fun! “

Knockhill Horse Power Cross Country Championship qualifier 2014

Well done to everyone who took part in the autumn hunter trial at Kinnaird. We hope everyone enjoyed the day. There was a good entry for all the classes and as usual the 2’6″ height was the most popular with both adult and junior competitors. Over one hundred horse and rider combinations took part resulting in a very successful day.

The ground held up very well despite the recent rain and there were some lovely clear rounds, close to the optimum times, across all the classes. In addition, several people took the chance to bring inexperienced horses or to move up a height and made good use of the easier ‘L’ options to get round.

A huge ‘thank you’ goes to all the many volunteers who gave up their time to help make everything run smoothly. We couldn’t do it without them, and their help is very much appreciated.

The photographer for the Kinnaird Autumn Hunter Trial was Jim Crichton and his pictures can be viewed at www.jimcrichton.com

NB: As a qualifier for the 2014 Knockhill Horse Power Cross Country Championship, Kinnaird Hunter Trial competitors who were placed in the first three in classes 1- 4 received qualifying cards for the final which takes place in September 2014.

North East Fife Riding Club One Day Event (NEFRC)

Once again the NEFRC One Day Event was a great success with a good entry across all the classes. The sun shone, the cross country jumped well and was looking well too with many of the fences newly painted. The paramedics had a very quiet time so hopefully competitors, helpers and spectators all enjoyed the day.

The Courier also gave the event a full page of coverage with some lovely photos so well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to all the prize winners. The Kinnaird Cup for the adult 3′ class was won this year by Lyndsay Comber riding Chinook, and for the second year running, one of the overnight campers featured as a trophy winner with Susan Humphries and Tucker taking the adult 2′ class. Once again, Jim Crichton took some lovely photos on the day and they can be viewed at / ordered from www.jimcrichton.com
