North East Fife Riding Club One Day Event (NEFRC)

Once again the NEFRC One Day Event was a great success with a good entry across all the classes. The sun shone, the cross country jumped well and was looking well too with many of the fences newly painted. The paramedics had a very quiet time so hopefully competitors, helpers and spectators all enjoyed the day.

The Courier also gave the event a full page of coverage with some lovely photos so well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to all the prize winners. The Kinnaird Cup for the adult 3′ class was won this year by Lyndsay Comber riding Chinook, and for the second year running, one of the overnight campers featured as a trophy winner with Susan Humphries and Tucker taking the adult 2′ class. Once again, Jim Crichton took some lovely photos on the day and they can be viewed at / ordered from www.jimcrichton.com

The Kinnaird Cup

This year, trophies were presented to the winners of the adult classes and stabling overnight here at Kinnaird proved worth while for the winner of the Open class Emma Nicholson and Strike It Lucky, who were the first winners of the new Kinnaird Cup.

Results are on the Riding Club website at www.nefrc.org.uk and you’ll find some great photos of the day which you may wish to order for yourselves on Jim Crichton’s web site: www.jimcrichton.com A huge thank you goes to all the competitors and the many people who helped in any way to make the event such a success – we hope you all enjoyed the day.

FOUND If you lost a pair of Young Hunter wellies (found in the car park) or a pair of Dublin rubber riding boots (found up the hill!?) phone Lesley on 07821 495865 to claim them.

The course is still available for hire and ground conditions are good so why not come along for a practice before all the autumn hunter trials? We are hoping to run our own competition again at the end of October but haven’t yet finalised a date so watch this space!

Visit our new gallery!

Check out the gallery on our web site so that you can perhaps see yourself in action! If you click on the ‘gallery’ tab, you’ll see a range of photographs from different events here at Kinnaird plus information on who took the photographs and how you can get hold of them.

As you’ll see, Bob Mather took some lovely photographs at our most recent hunter trial. You can see some of them here now and you’ll find even more on his own web site www.EventPhotographyScotland.co.uk.

We’ve certainly found that enlarged framed photographs of us jumping at Kinnaird make great Christmas presents for family members. You can order enlargements from both Bob Mather’s web site and from Jim Crichton ( www.jimcrichton.com) – another well known photographer who also comes to Kinnaird .

Talking of presents, Christmas or otherwise – we are available to hire for riding club and pony club lessons or events, camps and birthday parties, as well as just general practice and fun sessions – either early next spring or when ever the weather picks up again and the course is fit to jump. We’re happy to organise gift vouchers if you’re interested in this idea. Just contact Lesley .

Thank you to everyone who has visited Kinnaird throughout the season, and we do hope to see lots of you again next year.

It’s also proving great for groups of friends or Clubs coming for a camp or short break with their horses.
